Open your eyes and see more than your eyes could see

One fine day I saw a person wearing a t-shirt in which it was printed, “Our eyes see only what we want to see”.  This made me to contemplate on the depth of the message. Do people only see according to what they have understood?.
The key is that most of the times we see things based only on our expectations (if you are not one such person, then hats off to you). When we see with our expectations, the aspects that are obvious are blurred. We see things mostly based on our previous experience or knowledge gained. We know that we have limited knowledge through this perception, but still we may continue with the same.
A thinking which is always filled with a critical/judgmental outlook should be disciplined. We just react to people’s messages by replying them with what first comes in our mind. The key is in grasping the message, sometimes even reading it in between the lines with the flow of the conversation and then replying. For this, pausing while you speak will greatly help. Don’t be ashamed of pausing while you speak. It shows your care for being considerate.
Open up your eyes and see the exact situation and not what you want to see, which is a result of your expectations.  By following this, we can avoid many misunderstandings.
